Guess in that, perhaps try not completely exiting Brave but keep it running in the background when you’re doing other tasks and have Private going. That’s the “private” part of private tabs. This part is working as intended as Private closes tabs, removes cookies and history, etc. Every time when you tap Brave incognito shortcut from here, it will open in default incognito (private browsing) mode.
